How to keep your artificial turf from smelling in the heat?

During the hot months you start to spend more time outside in the sun, but unfortunately the sun has some not so nice counter affects on your artificial lawn. If you have pets, the heat may cause your artificial lawn to smell way worse than normal, and the last thing you want is for your friends who are coming over to BBQ with you, to be stuck smelling that pungent urine smell!

Here are tips on how to keep your artificial grass from smelling during summer. When using Urea-Z it is important to remember that the microbes are little tiny living things that need both food and water to survive. So like humans, during the hot months, the microbes need more water. We recommend spraying the affected areas with water a few times a week to keep the microbes hydrated and alive so they can keep eating the urine crystals and removing the urine smell.

We also recommend using the Urea-Z either at dawn or dusk to help minimize evaporation. Spraying the Urea-Z in the middle of the day while the sun is blazing at over 100 degrees can decrease the effectiveness of the microbes.

Ahh… your backyard smells fresh again, and you can enjoy your summer BBQ! #smelltherosesagain
